Funerus To Unleash Reduced To Sludge on November 22nd

October 2th 2011

At long last, Funerus returns with the highly-anticipated Reduced to Sludge. Violent and brooding, this eleven-track nightmarish beast solidifies their place in the annals of underground death metal. Reduced to Sludge is the second release from the Pennsylvania/New York based death metal band that features Incantation guitarist John McEntee, bassist/vocalist Jill McEntee and drummer Sam Inzerra (Mortician, Morpheus Descends). The album was engineered by Sam Inzerra, Jim Roe and John McEntee. Drums and guitars were recorded at Neanderthal Studios in Plainfield, New Jersey and the bass and vocals were recorded at Aries Studio in Johnstown, PA. Reduced To Sludge was mixed and mastered by Dan Swano (Bloodbath, Dark Funeral, Dissection, Hail Of Bullets, Opeth). The cover artwork was done by Dusty Peterson (Six Feet Under, Cattle Decapitation, Bloodbath). Funerus has made the track "Sound Of Oil" available for streaming on their Facebook page. Reduced to Sludge will be released by Ibex Moon Records on November 22nd. Jill McEntee comments on the album, "I feel we were able to capture the natural Funerus essence on this album. It continues in the same vein of the first album Festering Earth, in heaviness and songwriting. I think it will be well received."

Jill also had this to say about the band's upcoming performance at the Goregrowler's Ball in November where they will share the stage with the likes of Exhumed, Goatwhore, Suffocation and many more, "Funerus is happy to announce we will be playing the Goregrowler's Ball In San Antonio TX, which runs from November 18th to November 20th. This will be our first time playing Texas since we played in Austin back in about 2003. It's great to be part of such a killer line-up of bands this year. See you all there!" Sunday, October 16 at Hot Shots. Westville, NJ

Hello to our friends out there. I know it seems like we've fallen off the face of the earth, but we havent and we've been extremely busy working on this new album. It finally will see the light of day in early 2010. Sam, John and I have kept this album in the same vein that Funerus has always been!
Also in 2010 we will be doing a US tour in the earlier part of the year. Dates and other band will be added later.
We have made new shirts with a new design, from the Festering Earth album. They are "In the Trees" shirts, and the design is killer! Check the merchandise section for a picture.

Hello to all the Funerus friends and freaks! We have returned from some great shows over the last few months. The trip to Japan and the shows last year were so killer! Many thanks to Naru and family, Anatomia, Tim Tumor, and Yusuke and Defiled! Japan is a beautiful country, and the Japanese people were just cool as hell! Thanks for so much support!
Next was Mexico, and again, we had such a great time! The shows were amazing, and thank you to everyone who came out to the shows!
We just returned from shows in Canada recently. Many thanks to Mark, Deamon, and to all the sick fuckers who showed their support at the shows! We met alot of cool people and made some friends for life!
And lastly we played the Central Illinois Metalfest last Saturday night. The fest was great and we were happy to get such a great response, and to be able to play with such killer bands as Massacre, Nominon, Denial Fiend, Cardiac Arrest, Estuary and many more! Many, many thanks to Matt Bishop and everyone else involved in the fest!
